Job Description:
As an R&D Lab Chemist, you will be a key member of our research team, actively involved in the synthesis, analysis, and optimization of organic molecules. You will work under the guidance of senior scientists, contributing to the development of novel synthetic routes and the optimization of existing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organic Synthesis: Perform multi-step organic syntheses on a laboratory scale, ensuring accurate execution and meticulous record-keeping.
- Reaction Handling: Proficiently handle chemical reactions, including work-up procedures, distillation, crystallization, and filtration techniques.
- Laboratory Practices: Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks, adhering to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Route Scouting & Process Development: Assist senior scientists in the exploration of new synthetic routes and the development of efficient and scalable chemical processes.
- Scale-Up Support: Support scale-up trials and technology transfer activities, ensuring the smooth transition of processes from the lab to larger production scales.
- Analytical Coordination: Coordinate with the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) departments for analytical method development, utilizing techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR, and FTIR.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and proper waste disposal procedures within the laboratory environment.
Eligibility and Qualifications:
- Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry from a recognized university.
- Experience: Fresh graduates (2023, 2024, and 2025 pass-outs) are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1-3 years of relevant experience are also welcome.
- Knowledge: A strong academic foundation in organic reaction mechanisms and laboratory techniques.
- Skills: Hands-on experience with Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), column chromatography, and distillation techniques is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent communication and documentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Availability: Willingness to work full-time at our R&D facility in Pune.
