North Eastern Hill University Junior Research Fellow Job


 The North-Eastern Hill University Act (24 of 1973) passed by both Houses of Parliament received the assent of the President of India on May 26th, 1973. It was published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) on May 26th, 1973 together with the First Schedule of the Act incorporating the Statutes of the University.  The objectives of the University, as laid down in the act, are to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the hill areas of the North-eastern region, and in particular, the intellectual, academic and cultural advancement.

Applications through email along with the biodata and attested e-copies of all certificates are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, sponsored research project entitled “Purification and characterisation of glycerol kinase and glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (cytosolic and mitochondrial) from Homo sapiens for their critical role in type 2 diabetes” (BT/PR31051/MED/30/2100/2019 dated 05/08/2020), sanctioned to Dr. Bidyadhar Das (PI) and Dr. Devendra K. Biswal (Co-PI) for a period of 3 years.

JRF Fellowship : As per DBT, GoI, rules and regulations
Age limit : Less than 28 years as on 06/08/2021 (Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PHD candidates as per GoI norms)
Essential Qualifications : M. Sc. in Zoology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics with minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination (with relaxation as per GoI rules). Candidates with NET (UGC-CSIR) / GATE and experiences in handling various bioinformatics software for protein chemistry, or experiences in protein expression in E. coli/ yeast, and protein purification and molecular biology would be preferred.
