Job Title: Medical Coder – IPDRG (Fresher)
Job Summary:
Optum Global Solutions is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Medical Coders to join our growing team in Chennai. This is an excellent opportunity for certified freshers (CPC, CIC, or CCS) to launch a rewarding career in the healthcare technology and revenue cycle management industry. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning IPDRG codes from patient medical records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality. This is a work-from-office position based in Chennai.
Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly review patient records and clinical documentation to identify relevant information for coding.
- Assign accurate IPDRG (Inpatient Prospective Payment System Diagnosis Related Group) codes based on established coding guidelines and principles.
- Ensure strict compliance with ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding standards.
- Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and security regarding medical records and patient information.
- Collaborate effectively with audit and quality teams to identify areas for improvement in coding accuracy and completeness.
- Stay updated on coding guideline changes and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Experience: Fresher
- Mandatory Certifications: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
- Educational Qualification:
- B.Sc Nursing
- Biotechnology / Microbiology
- Physiotherapist
- Pharmacist
- Anesthesiologist
- BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) / BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
- Cardiac Perfusion Technician
- Location: Chennai (Work from Office)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret medical records and documentation accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills and electronic health record systems.

Salary:
The expected annual salary range for this position is approximately ₹3,00,000 – ₹4,50,000. The exact salary will be determined based on certification and performance during the interview process.
