Job Summary:

Hikal Limited, a leading Indian CDMO and API manufacturer, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Manager / AGM – API Sales & Business Development to drive growth in the Latin American market. Based in our corporate office in IJP Nagar, Bangalore, this pivotal role will focus on identifying, developing, and managing API sales and business development opportunities across Central and South America. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical API industry, a proven track record in Latin American markets, and exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in Latin American markets.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, end customers, trading partners, and distributors.
  • Sales Growth: Increase wallet share of existing API products and successfully introduce new molecules to the market.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough country-wise market analysis (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Chile, etc.), including competitor landscapes and regulatory environments.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and GMP teams to ensure compliance for LATAM registrations.
  • Target Achievement: Achieve annual sales targets and expand Hikal’s footprint throughout the Latin American region.
  • Representation: Represent Hikal at international conferences and during customer audits in Latin America.

Requirements:

  • Education: B.Sc/M.Sc/B.Pharm; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical API sales and business development.
  • Market Expertise: Proven track record of successfully managing business in Central and Latin American markets, with a demonstrated history of travel within the region.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of GMP, DMF filings, and regulatory requirements (ANVISA, COFEPRIS, INVIMA, etc.) for API exports.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a significant advantage.
  • Regional Experience: Deep experience in 2-3 major LATAM countries (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia) with willingness to cover the entire region is acceptable.
