Job Summary

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist in Formulation Development to join our R&D team in Hyderabad. This role is dedicated to the innovative development of nutraceutical and probiotic products within a science-driven environment. About the Role

As a Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between scientific research and commercial manufacturing. You will be responsible for end-to-end product development, ensuring that our nutraceutical and probiotic formulations meet global quality standards. You will work within a dynamic, cross-functional team, interacting with QA, QC, and regulatory departments to ensure that our products are not only effective but also compliant with FSSAI and international regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Formulation & Process Development

• Lead the development of tablets, capsules, and sachet formulations, including multivitamins, minerals, and complex herbal products.
• Perform critical pre-formulation studies, including excipient compatibility, characterization, and strategies to improve bioavailability and taste masking.
• Manage process development activities, including granulation, blending, compression, and coating.
• Oversee scale-up initiatives and technology transfers to manufacturing sites, ensuring seamless production transition.

Probiotics Expertise

• Drive the design and development of probiotic dosage forms (tablets, capsules, and sachets).
• Execute advanced techniques such as lyophilization and microencapsulation to ensure strain stability and efficacy.

Analytical, Stability & Compliance

• Define rigorous product specifications, including assay, dissolution, and moisture content requirements.
• Conduct and monitor stability studies in strict accordance with ICH guidelines to guarantee product quality throughout the shelf life.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Master Formula Records (MFRs), Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), and validation protocols.
• Support regulatory filings by providing essential technical data and ensuring adherence to global and local regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Education: A Master’s degree (M.Pharm, M.Sc, or M.Tech) in Pharmaceutics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related Life Sciences.
• Experience: 5–10+ years of professional experience specifically in nutraceutical and probiotic formulation development.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expert-level proficiency in tablet and capsule formulation.
  • In-depth understanding of pre-formulation, scale-up processes, and packaging interactions.
  • Proven ability to interpret and conduct complex stability studies.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent technical documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
