Job Description:
As the EHS Officer/Senior Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and the protection of the environment. You will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining our EHS programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manuals, formats, and the On-Site Emergency Plan.
- Deliver engaging and informative safety training programs to employees.
- Organize and conduct regular mock drills, including evacuation and fire drills, to ensure preparedness.
- Lead thorough incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
- Conduct comprehensive Risk Assessments, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies.
- Prepare the annual EHS budget and manage the inventory of all safety equipment.
- Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of fire safety systems and fire extinguishers, ensuring their operational readiness.
- Maintain meticulous documentation to meet the requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, EcoVadis, Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI), and other relevant safety audits.
- Perform regular safety audits and conduct Behavior Based Safety (BBS) observations to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Organize and lead Safety Committee Meetings to foster communication and collaboration on EHS matters.
- Familiarity with Behavioral Safety Software will be considered a strong advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Sc / M.Sc degree.
- Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- ADIS or PDIS qualification is highly preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on EHS experience in the pharmaceutical/API manufacturing industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Gujarat Factory Rules, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and relevant international standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
