Job Description:
As an Intern – Healthcare Data Analyst, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to various projects focused on analyzing and interpreting healthcare data. This internship will provide you with a strong foundation for future roles in healthcare analytics, health insurance analytics, and data engineering within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Validation and Quality Assurance: Perform thorough data checks to ensure consistency, completeness, and reasonability of healthcare datasets.
- Data Management: Manage large and complex datasets, including collecting, cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data from various sources.
- SQL Development: Write and execute SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data for analysis and reporting purposes. Perform trend analysis using SQL.
- Python Programming: Utilize Python for statistical analysis, data manipulation, and automation of tasks.
- Reporting and Visualization: Prepare clear and concise summaries, insights, and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Independent Work Management: Plan tasks effectively, solve problems proactively, and meet deadlines independently.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Understand and interpret the complexities of US health insurance plan benefits (a plus).
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support project goals and deliver high-quality results.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharma, Healthcare, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL with experience in writing complex queries and manipulating data.
- Strong Python skills, including experience with data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with statistical concepts and analytical thinking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
- Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with the US healthcare insurance market is highly preferred.
- Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player.
