Job Description:
PI Industries is seeking highly motivated and experienced professionals to fill the following positions in our R&D and Manufacturing Technology function:
1. Research Scientist – Process Technology
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop safe, robust, and scalable chemical processes for new and existing molecules.
- Conduct route scouting, process optimization, impurity profiling, and troubleshooting.
- Prepare comprehensive technology packages for scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
- Utilize modern analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, NMR, etc.) for process monitoring and analysis.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with regulatory and IP requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including pilot plant, engineering, and manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry (preferred)
- M.Sc. in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry
- M.Pharma in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
- Experience:
- Ph.D. holders: 0–5 years of industrial experience
- M.Sc. / M.Pharma holders: 1–12 years of hands-on experience in chemical process development and process optimization.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of organic chemistry principles and reaction mechanisms
- Experience in process development, optimization, and scale-up
- Proficiency in analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, NMR)
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Preferred Background: Prior experience in Agrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Pharmaceutical API, or Fine & Specialty Chemicals is highly desirable.
2. Executive / Senior Executive – Technology Transfer
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute technology transfer documents, including process descriptions, flow charts, risk assessments, and batch records.
- Oversee the successful scale-up of lab/pilot processes to commercial manufacturing scale.
- Conduct hazard evaluations, process safety studies, and implement safety measures.
- Coordinate closely between R&D, pilot plant, and manufacturing teams during technology transfer.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during trial and commercial batches.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years (up to 10+ years for Senior Executive level) in Technology Transfer, Process Engineering, Scale-up, or Plant Support functions.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and process safety.
- Experience in technology transfer, scale-up, and plant support.
- Knowledge of GMP, EHS standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Preferred Background: Agrochemicals, Fine Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, and Pharmaceutical API manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
