Job Description:
As the Executive – Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, protecting the environment, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs across the API manufacturing Unit 2.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS Management System: Lead and manage all aspects of the EHS management system, ensuring its effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Process Safety Management (PSM): Establish, maintain, and improve the Process Safety Management (PSM) system to prevent major accidents and ensure the safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Industrial Hygiene: Implement and manage industrial hygiene programs to monitor and control workplace hazards, including exposure to chemicals, noise, and other physical agents.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct HAZOP studies and activity-based risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Standard Compliance: Improve and sustain OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) and EMS ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) standards.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the annual EHS budget for the manufacturing unit, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Compliance & Projects: Handle all upcoming site-related EHS compliance requirements and lead EHS-related projects.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable EHS regulations in Karnataka.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and complete EHS records, prepare reports for management, and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Mandatory: 4-5 years of hands-on EHS experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in API/Bulk Drug manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of HAZOP, risk assessment methodologies, and PSM principles.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and statutory EHS compliances in Karnataka.
- Strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range:
₹6 – 9 Lakhs per annum (commensurate with experience and current compensation).
