Job Title: Senior Executive – Peptide Synthesis & Purification
Location: Jigani, Bangalore
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Executive with hands-on experience in peptide synthesis and purification to play a crucial role in our R&D operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of peptide molecules, adhering to GLP standards, and contributing to the scale-up of peptide production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Peptide Synthesis: Perform synthesis of a variety of peptide molecules using both solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and liquid-phase peptide synthesis (LPPS) methodologies.
- Reaction Monitoring: Monitor peptide synthesis reactions using qualitative assays such as Kaiser test, Chloranil test, and Elman’s test.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain key laboratory equipment, including Preparative HPLC with DAC column, Flash chromatography systems, Rotary evaporators, Nano-filtration systems, and Lyophilizers. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of all equipment.
- Purification & Analysis: Conduct routine analytical HPLC and support method development for preparative purification processes.
- Peptide Characterization: Characterize synthesized peptides using various analytical techniques including IR spectroscopy, Mass spectrometry, and NMR interpretation.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all experimental procedures, results, and observations in accordance with GLP standards.
- Scale-Up Activities: Contribute actively to the scale-up of peptide synthesis and purification processes for larger-scale production.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot synthesis and purification issues, and proactively identify solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other members of the R&D team to achieve project goals and timelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: M.Sc in Organic Chemistry (specialization in peptide chemistry is highly preferred).
- Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in peptide synthesis and purification within a CRO/CDMO or pharmaceutical R&D setting.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis techniques.
- Hands-on experience with preparative HPLC purification, nanofiltration, and lyophilization.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS, NMR, and IR for peptide characterization.
- Experience with peptide reaction monitoring techniques (Kaiser, Chloranil, Elman’s tests).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
