Position Overview
We are currently seeking skilled and motivated professionals to join our API Process R&D team. As a Research Chemist, Senior Research Chemist, or Research Associate, you will play a critical role in our development projects, ensuring the efficient synthesis and scale-up of high-quality chemical intermediates and compounds. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with 2 to 5 years of relevant industry experience to contribute to high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your primary objective will be to drive research projects from conception to completion. Your responsibilities will include:
- Project Execution: Plan and execute synthetic strategies to ensure timely project delivery. You will work independently to conduct reactions using appropriate reagents and equipment while maintaining strict standards for efficiency and waste reduction.
- Laboratory Management: Ensure the quality of all materials before use and adhere to all laboratory safety protocols. You will be responsible for meticulous documentation in laboratory notebooks, capturing critical process parameters and observations.
- Process Development: Identify and execute work-up and purification techniques to produce high-quality compounds with minimal supervision. You will implement in-process controls, validate processes through bench-scale batches, and manage the scale-up of projects for pilot or manufacturing plant stages.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze analytical data, interpret synthesis results, and prepare comprehensive project reports, including Batch Production Records (BPRs). You will provide regular weekly progress updates to project management.
- Technical Support: Assist project managers in estimating project timelines, identifying suitable synthetic routes, and assessing potential risks. You will be expected to support and guide junior team members, ensuring all staff maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Safety & Confidentiality: Maintain a safe work environment by proactively identifying and mitigating hazards. You must adhere to strict Intellectual Property (IP) confidentiality policies at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Background: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in API Process R&D.
- Skills: Proficiency in synthetic organic chemistry, purification techniques, and analytical data interpretation. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Preference: We are particularly looking for candidates who are immediate joiners.
