Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Data Abstractor/Analyst, you will play a vital role in extracting and organizing critical clinical data that drives our RWE initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Data Extraction: Accessing electronic medical record systems to accurately extract patient-specific clinical data.
- Data Entry: Entering the extracted data into designated electronic data platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Project Understanding: Thoroughly reviewing project documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of project objectives and data requirements.
- Workflow Adaptation: Learning and adapting to new workflows and abstraction standards for each unique project.
- Knowledge Sharing: Sharing your medical and procedural knowledge with fellow team members to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participating in and contributing agenda items for periodic Abstractor meetings to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Query Resolution: Responding promptly and effectively to queries from Lead Data Abstractors or project managers, ensuring timely issue resolution.
- Data Interpretation: Understanding and interpreting critical clinical information, including inclusion/exclusion criteria, adverse events, hospitalizations, and medication data.
- Report Analysis: Interpreting diagnostic, pathology, lab, and specialty reports to extract relevant data points.
- Record Review: Reviewing medical records to assess patient eligibility during project onboarding, ensuring adherence to study protocols.
- Additional Tasks: Performing other duties related to RWE data abstraction as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-1 year of relevant experience (Freshers are welcome to apply).
- Medical Terminology: A strong understanding of medical terminology is essential for accurate data interpretation.
- Clinical Data Interpretation: Ability to interpret clinical documents and healthcare data, extracting meaningful information.
- Clinical Knowledge: Good knowledge of AE reporting, hospitalization details, and diagnostics is highly desirable.
- EMR/EHR Familiarity: Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is an added advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail is crucial for ensuring data accuracy and quality.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify and interpret relevant data points within complex medical records.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
