Job description
Role & responsibilities
Upstream Processing:
- Develop and optimize media formulations to support optimal cell growth and productivity.
- Select and optimize cell lines for high yield and product quality.
- Hands on experience in Fermenter and Bioreactor.
- Conduct experiments to scale up processes from laboratory to pilot and production scale.
- Operate and monitor bioreactors for cell culture or fermentation processes.
- Prepare and maintain cell banks and inoculum cultures to initiate bioreactor runs.
- Optimize process parameters to improve cell growth, viability, and product yield.
- Implement and utilize process control systems and automation to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Ensure all upstream processing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated.
- Work closely with downstream processing, quality control, and other departments to ensure seamless process integration.
- Train and mentor junior staff and new team members on upstream processes and best practices.
- Plan and manage upstream processing projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
Downstream Processing:
- Harvest cells from bioreactors using methods such as centrifugation or filtration.
- Hands on experience in Centrifuges, Chromatography, AKTA Process and TFF system.
- Optimize purification steps to improve yield, purity, and overall process efficiency.
- Ensure all downstream processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all purification processes, experiments, and results.
- Ensure all downstream processing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated.
- Investigate and implement new technologies and methods to improve downstream processes
