Key Responsibilities

As a Copy Editor, you will be responsible for upholding the integrity and accuracy of complex medical communications. Your core duties will include:

  • Content Editing: Perform comprehensive copyediting of pharmaceutical promotional and educational materials, ensuring they meet the highest standards of clarity and accuracy.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all content adheres strictly to the AMA Manual of Style, internal brand guidelines, and organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough proofreading to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and formatting, as well as specific technical elements such as trademarks, ISI identifiers, part numbers, and dates.
  • QC Management: Execute rigorous quality control checks throughout the review cycles to ensure no new errors are introduced during the revision process.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) and other cross-functional teams to streamline content approval workflows.
  • Systems Validation: Perform Veeva-approved copy validation, verifying distribution status and ensuring layout accuracy against the final approved version.
  • Documentation: Assist in the creation and maintenance of editorial style guides to ensure consistency across all projects.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who possess a solid foundation in the life sciences and a sharp eye for detail.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, BSc, or MSc is preferred).

Professional Experience:

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in pharmaceutical content editing, medical proofreading, or the review of promotional materials.

Required Skills:

  • Editorial Expertise: Deep knowledge of the AMA Manual of Style or the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Language Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in US and UK English editing with a strong command of scientific terminology and medical jargon.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with pharma promotional content and familiarity with Veeva systems.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
