Job Description
As a Research Chemist or Research Associate within our Analytical R&D department, you will play a critical role in supporting our synthetic research and development efforts. You will be responsible for developing and refining robust analytical methods to ensure the quality and purity of complex chemical processes, intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
We are looking for a professional who possesses a deep understanding of analytical chemistry and thrives when working in a collaborative, goal-oriented setting. This role requires a high degree of technical aptitude and a meticulous approach to data integrity and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Analytical Method Development: Lead the development, optimization, and qualification of robust analytical methods—with a primary focus on HPLC and UPLC—to monitor complex chemical synthesis and process intermediates.
- Method Validation and Transfer: Execute comprehensive method validation protocols according to ICH guidelines and facilitate the seamless technology transfer of developed methods to our Quality Control and Production departments.
- Impurity Profiling: Utilize advanced analytical techniques to identify and quantify impurities, degradation products, and residual solvents, providing essential feedback to the Process R&D team to improve synthetic efficiency.
- Instrumentation Management: Serve as a technical expert for high-end laboratory instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and other spectroscopic tools. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and routine maintenance to ensure continuous analytical support for project timelines.
- Compliance and Documentation: Maintain rigorous laboratory notebooks and prepare high-quality analytical reports, technical specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that align with regulatory expectations and internal quality standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry or Organic Chemistry.
- Professional Experience: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in Analytical Method Development (AMD) within a CRDMO, CDMO, or CRO environment.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in operating and managing HPLC systems. A strong fundamental understanding of process chemistry and its impact on analytical testing requirements is essential.
- Operational Skills: Experience with GC, LC-MS, and Preparative HPLC is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex spectral data.
