Job Title: Team Member – Manufacturing (Blister Packing Operator)

Job Summary

  • Oversee daily blister packing operations, ensuring production targets are met with high efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to team members to ensure consistent operational excellence.
  • Manage batch manufacturing, packaging activities, and all associated documentation.
  • Conduct initial incident investigations and coordinate necessary staff training.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and quality standards.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive individual to join our manufacturing team as a Blister Packing Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of blister packing operations. You will ensure that all machinery is functioning optimally, team members are well-guided, and every product meets our rigorous quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and committed to maintaining a safe, high-performance work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Packing Operations

  • Operate blister packing machinery in strict accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Batch Manufacturing/Packaging Records (BMR/BPR).
  • Perform comprehensive line clearance procedures before and after every batch.
  • Manage the setup, changeover, and consistent monitoring of packing equipment.
  • Ensure the correct loading of all materials, including blister forming films, foils, cartons, leaflets, and labels.
  • Monitor critical process parameters and conduct thorough inspections to identify and rectify defects such as improper sealing, missing tablets, poor print quality, or damaged blisters.

Quality and Compliance

  • Maintain full compliance with cGMP, GDP, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines at all times.
  • Ensure that all batch documentation is accurate, complete, and filed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular in-process quality checks (IPQC) and report any deviations immediately to ensure data integrity.
  • Provide active support to the Quality Assurance (QA) team during internal audits, external inspections, and site investigations.

Equipment and Maintenance

  • Perform routine cleaning of blister machines following established cleaning SOPs.
  • Execute minor troubleshooting when equipment issues arise and report major breakdowns to the maintenance department for prompt resolution.
  • Maintain high standards of machine cleanliness and general upkeep during and after all production shifts.

Safety and Housekeeping

  • Adhere to all established site safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Champion 5S methodology and maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the packing area.
  • Follow all organizational waste segregation and disposal procedures to ensure a clean and sustainable workplace.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Diploma or B.Sc. degree is required.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Skills and Attributes

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with OSD (Oral Solid Dosage) blister packing lines.
  • Proficiency in tablet/capsule manufacturing and packaging processes.
  • Experience in secondary packing activities, including carton packing, case packing, and serialization.
  • Familiarity with filling operations (tubes, jars, bottles) and granulation/blending processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Pas|X, GMP standards, and Good Laboratory Practices.
