Job Description:

As a Consultant – Analytics (Tableau Developer), you will play a crucial role in delivering data-driven insights to our business stakeholders. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development and maintenance of Tableau dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, performance, and usability. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing principles, SQL scripting, and dashboard optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand their strategic and ad-hoc data requirements, translating business needs into effective and insightful dashboards.
  • Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain intermediate to advanced Tableau dashboards utilizing Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Data Management: Manage and support the day-to-day operations of dashboards across Azure SQL Data Warehouse and other analytics systems, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • SQL Scripting: Write complex SQL scripts for data validation, quality checks, and automated updates to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in dashboards.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large medical and claims datasets to identify key trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Performance Optimization: Perform query optimization and dashboard performance tuning to ensure fast load times and a seamless user experience.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Participate in analytical problem-solving exercises, data exploration initiatives, and data science-oriented tasks, contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of dashboard designs, data flows, and SQL scripts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Data Analytics & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, identify key insights, and develop effective solutions to business challenges.
  • Tableau Development Expertise: Extensive experience in Tableau development, including both front-end visualization and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflow design using Tableau Prep.
  • Performance Tuning: Solid understanding of performance tuning principles and techniques for both Tableau dashboards and SQL queries.
  • SQL Server Proficiency: Proven proficiency in SQL Server, including the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.
  • Azure Data Factory Experience: Experience with Azure Data Factory for data integration and ETL processes is highly preferred.
  • Healthcare Data Exposure: Exposure to medical and healthcare data is considered a significant plus.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work independently on complex dashboard projects, managing priorities and meeting deadlines effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics).
