Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic Production Officer to manage day-to-day manufacturing operations within our API plant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all production activities are executed efficiently and in strict accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, experience with chemical processing equipment, and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Production Execution and Compliance
* Carry out daily production tasks strictly following the Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Monitor critical process parameters throughout the manufacturing cycle to ensure product quality and consistency.
* Coordinate effectively with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) departments for line clearances, product sampling, and process validations.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
* Operate and oversee key plant machinery, including reactors, centrifuges, agitated nutsche filter dryers (ANFD), fluid bed dryers (FBD), and other specialized production equipment.
* Ensure the timely charging and discharging of materials, strictly adhering to defined process requirements.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and perform regular cleaning and sanitization of production areas and machinery in line with established protocols.
Documentation and Reporting
* Maintain precise, real-time documentation, including logbooks, equipment usage records, and detailed BMR entries.
* Identify, document, and report any process deviations, abnormalities, or Out of Specification (OOS)/Out of Trend (OOT) results to the production supervisor immediately.
* Ensure all records are audit-ready and comply with regulatory expectations.
Safety and Quality Standards
* Maintain a culture of safety by strictly following EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
* Handle hazardous chemicals and materials with extreme caution and in accordance with safety guidelines.
* Actively support process validation, scale-up batches, and technology transfer activities as required by the plant management.
Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
* A degree in B.Sc or M.Sc (Chemistry), B.Pharma, or M.Pharma.
* 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical or API manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of GMP compliance and regulatory documentation.
* The ability to follow technical instructions accurately and work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
